 NNPC/TOTAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME


 INVITATION FOR APPLICATION

OVERVIEW
Over the years, NNPC and Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria 
have demonstrated a high level of commitment towards the educational 
development of Nigeria students as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
 This commitment has been confirmed in several ways, one of which is the annual
 award of scholarships to deserving Nigerian students in tertiary institutions.
 The programme is aimed at promoting academic excellence and qualitative
 manpower development in the nation.

NNPC/TOTAL hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for its 
2013/2014 National Merit Scholarship Awards.

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO APPLY?
To qualify for consideration applicants MUST be/Show:
  • Registered FULL TIME undergraduates in recognized Nigerian Universities.

  • Certified 100/200 level students at the time of application
  • Proof of SSCE or equivalent certificate
  • Proof of UME scores, Admission letters & Matriculation numbers

NOTE: The following categories of students should not apply:
  • 300 level students and above
  • Current beneficiaries of similar awards from other companies and agencies

Applications forms must be completed on-line using the link 
(http://scholarships.totalsdd.com), Applications will close three weeks from
 the date of this publication. Selection tests will hold on the 24th of May 2014 
at designated centres nationwide which will be communicated to the shortlisted
Candidates. Candidates are to fully bear the cost of transportation to and from the 
venue of the selection tests. Please note that only short-listed candidates will be contacted
for the tests.

Chevron Nigeria Limited, in collaboration with its Joint Venture partner, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), is offering a number of University Scholarship Awards to suitably qualified Nigerian students.
E-applications are invited from full-time SECOND YEAR (200 LEVEL) degree students of the under-listed courses, in Nigerian Universities:

2.   Agricultural Engineering/Agricultural Science
3.   Architecture
4.   Business Administration/Economics
5.   Chemical Engineering
6.   Civil Engineering

In line with our e-scholarship administration system, selected students will be invited for computer-administered qualifying tests in selected examination centers nationwide. Short-listed candidates for the qualifying test will be invited by email and SMS text messages. All applicants are therefore advised to ensure that GSM telephone numbers and personal email addresses are properly entered into the e-forms on the web site.
ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED.
QUALIFICATION PROCESS: Interested applicants should click on the "How it works" tab to proceed.
Deadline: Closing date for receipt of e-applications is strictly February 21, 2014.

Application is open to fresh candidates.
1. Before you start this application, ensure you have clear scanned copies of the following documents
Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
School ID card
Admission letter
Birth certificate
O' Level result
JAMB Result
2. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents during upload
3. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload
To apply, follow the steps below:
1.    Click on "Apply Now" tab.
2.    Click on "Register Now" to create an account.
3.    Proceed to your email box to activate your account
4.    Click on http://www.scholastica.ng/Schemes/cnlawards to return to Scholarship site
5.    Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
6.    Enter your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents.
7.    Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if otherwise.
8.    Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading.
9.    When asked to upload photo, upload a pass-port photograph with a white background.
10.  Recheck application information to avoid errors
11.  Click "Apply Now" to submit information
12.  You will receive an email and a sms that confirms your application was successful.
13.  Return to www.scholastica.ng, enter your Email and Password to download your profile and proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document.
14.  Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, this would be used for verification.
15.  If National Identification Number (NIN) number was not available in step 6, to obtain your National Identification Number (NIN)  
Visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and learn more about the National Identity Number  
Click "Create Account" and fill in the required  fields  
Login with Email and Password to complete the form  
After completion, schedule a date for photo and finger print capture  
Visit any of the 37 capture centres www.nimc.gov.ng/pages/general/enrolmentcentres.htm  to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number  
You can also do your total registration at the NIMC office
16. Return to http://www.scholastica.ng/Schemes/cnlawards and update application with National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion
Note: Multiple applications attract a disqualification penalty from the Scholarship board

CHEVRON AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO 1,508 UNDERGRADUATES


Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture, said on Monday s that 1,508 Nigerian undergraduates in different schools across the country were currently enjoying joint venture scholarships.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Deji Haastrup, the General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs,   and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.

The statement said that some 9,000 scholars had benefitted from the programme between 2004 and 2013.
The statement said that the company was inviting qualified candidates to apply for its 2014/2015 National Scholarship scheme.

``The NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture National Scholarship scheme is designed for full-time second year university undergraduates from all states of the federation, including Abuja.

``The disciplines the scholarship covers include all fields of Engineering, Environmental Studies, Surveying and Geology/Geophysics.
``Others are Accountancy, Agricultural Science, Architecture, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Mass Communication/Journalism, Human Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy."

The company invited interested candidates to complete e-application forms online on a designated website published in newspaper adverts.

The statement said that the closing date for receipt of e-applications is Feb. 21, 2014.

A total of 1,508 Nigerian undergraduates in different schools across the country are currently enjoying NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture scholarships, while 9,000 scholars have benefitted from the scholarship between 2004 and 2013.

``In addition to the National Scholarship scheme, the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture runs a Community Scholarship scheme exclusively for stakeholders in its areas of operation.
``The Joint Venture also has a special scholarship for visually challenged undergraduates,'' the statement said.

It added  that the various scholarship schemes were part of the NNPC/CNL Joint Venture's commitment to the development of qualitative education and human capital in Nigeria.
